Diagnostic Care

Radiology

Abingdon Square Veterinarians

Radiographs are one of the best tools available for diagnosing your pet's problems. This important diagnostic tool has a wide variety of uses and often is employed to diagnose a number of conditions, from heart and lung disease to broken bones and foreign bodies (toys, bones, etc.) inside your pet's stomach or intestines. Radiographs are often one of the first tests performed on you pet as the procedure is painless and can often provide an immediate and conclusive diagnosis.

Your pet has access to high-quality veterinary radiograph technology at Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic.

Ultrasound

A veterinary ultrasound procedure is similar to the same diagnostic procedure you might undergo at a hospital. Ultrasound uses high-frequency soundwaves to produce a moving image of your pet's internal organs. This highly-detailed image is displayed on a monitor and can allow for a quick and accurate diagnose of your pet's condition. Ultrasound is particularly useful when performing cardiac evaluations and examining the abdominal cavity.

Your pet no longer needs general anesthesia, complicated surgery and a painful experience. All this can now be avoided by using ultrasound. The procedure is stress-free for your pet and lasts only a few minutes. Ultrasound alleviates the high cost and possible complications associated with exploratory surgery. At Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic, we use the latest and most effective ultrasound technology.

Electrocardiography

An electrocardiogram records the electrical impulses of your pet's heart. We use this information to diagnose and treat a number of heart conditions, including heart disease and potentially life-threatening arrhythmia.
