Dr. Molly Seaward joined the team at Abingdon Square in August 2016 after she completed a 12 month rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at BluePearl Veterinary Partners in New York City. A New Englander since birth, Dr. Seaward grew up in Maine and attended Bowdoin College, where she competed on the track and field team and earned dual Bachelor’s of Arts degrees in German and Biology. After college she spent two years working in ophthalmology research at Children’s Hospital Boston, but was drawn to the West Coast to study veterinary medicine. She received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. While in Oregon, she pursued an interest in sports medicine, assisting with the National Amateur Retriever Championship in 2014, as well as the 8th International Symposium on Veterinary Rehabilitation/Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine, held at Oregon State.

Dr. Seaward enjoys many facets of veterinary medicine, including sports medicine and surgery, but has a special interest in preventative medicine and behavior. She enjoys developing relationships with clients and acting as an advocate for their non-human family members. She is a member of the New York City Veterinary Medical Association, the New York State Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).

In her spare time, Dr. Seaward enjoys running and hiking with her husband and their Labrador retriever. They also enjoy frequenting jazz music clubs and eating their way through New York City’s diverse culinary scene.
