Dr. Dianne DeLorenzo is a general practitioner and the owner of Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic.
A native of the Bronx, Dr. DeLorenzo attended Cornell University and received her Bachelor’s Degree in 1983. She went on to attend Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. After completing her veterinary studies, Dr. DeLorenzo was chosen from among hundreds of candidates for a medicine and surgery internship at The Animal Medical Center in NYC.
Internal medicine and geriatric medicine are among Dr. DeLorenzo’s many professional interests. She enjoys practicing in the Village and is grateful for the time she gets to spend with all her clients and their wonderful pets. Dr. DeLorenzo is a member of the New York City Veterinary Medical Association, the New York State Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. DeLorenzo supports numerous adoption agencies such as the ASPCA, Humane Society, and Alley Cat Allies, which promotes TNR (Trap Neuter Release) programs.
Dr. DeLorenzo has been happily married to her husband Greg since 1993. They enjoy spending time with their extended families and the companionship of their two cats. Dr. DeLorenzo’s hobbies include bird watching, photography and theatre arts, among other creative pursuits.
Dr. Brett Shorenstein is a general practitioner and owner of Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic.
Dr. Shorenstein is a native New Yorker who was raised on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. He graduated from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Management. After working for a year in New York City in Investment Banking at Credit Suisse, Dr. Shorenstein was determined to follow his true passion and become a small animal veterinarian.
Following a 2-year post-baccalaureate program, Dr. Shorenstein attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in Philadelphia where he graduated magna cum laude. He then moved back to New York where he completed a year-long rotating internship in Medicine and Surgery at the Animal Medical Center. Prior to joining Abingdon Square Vet, Dr. Shorenstein was an Associate Veterinarian at a veterinary hospital on the Upper East Side.
Dr. Shorenstein is a member of the Veterinary Medical Association of New York City (VMANYC) and New York State Veterinary Medical Society (NYSVMS) as well as the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). He is a USDA-accredited veterinarian. Dr. Shorenstein’s professional interests include internal medicine, dermatology, and nutrition.
When not at work, he enjoys partaking in culinary adventures throughout the 5 boroughs, playing tennis, and traveling with his wife, Rachel, a pediatrician who is currently pursuing a fellowship in neonatology.
Dr. Jessica Goldberg, a native of New Jersey, received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Boston University in 2004. She continued her studies in the sciences while gaining invaluable veterinary experience in New Jersey. Dr. Goldberg graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011, and went on to complete a year-long medical and surgery internship at BluePearl Veterinary Partners in New York City. She became an associate veterinarian at Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic in July 2012.
Dr. Goldberg has special interests in internal medicine, preventative medicine, dentistry, dermatology, and clinical pathology. She especially enjoys getting to know her patients and clients and practicing high-quality medicine in all her patients’ life stages. Dr. Goldberg is a member of the Veterinary Medical Association of New York City and New York State Veterinary Medical Society as well as the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). She is a USDA-accredited veterinarian.
During her free time, Dr. Goldberg enjoys reading, bicycling, photography, film, and exploring the city’s diverse cultures and cuisines. Dr. Goldberg resides in New Jersey with her husband Edgar, their daughter, and their cat Lionel.
Dr. Rose Burdon grew up in the United Kingdom and was inspired by James Herriot to become a veterinarian at an early age. She completed her veterinary studies in 1991 at Bristol University. Soon after graduating, she came across the pond to the United States where she practiced for twelve years at the MSPCA hospital on Nantucket Island. There she took care of all creatures great and small, – literally, furry, feathered, finned and hooved! After moving to New York, she practiced for six years at West Chelsea Veterinary and then at the ASPCA as part of their National training team, which trained veterinary groups in new spay/neuter techniques. She also earned certification in veterinary acupuncture in 1998 providing an important treatment option for her patients. Dr. Burdon joined the Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic staff in August 2013.
Dr. Burdon’s professional interests include geriatric medicine and internal medicine where she takes an integrative approach. She also enjoys volunteering for spay/neuter organizations in her free time. Dr. Burdon is a member of the New York City Veterinary Medical Society, the New York State Veterinary Medical Association, the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
She lives in Manhattan with her family including three rescue cats and her adorable Labrador Filly.
Dr. Molly Seaward joined the team at Abingdon Square in August 2016 after she completed a 12 month rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at BluePearl Veterinary Partners in New York City. A New Englander since birth, Dr. Seaward grew up in Maine and attended Bowdoin College, where she competed on the track and field team and earned dual Bachelor’s of Arts degrees in German and Biology. After college she spent two years working in ophthalmology research at Children’s Hospital Boston, but was drawn to the West Coast to study veterinary medicine. She received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. While in Oregon, she pursued an interest in sports medicine, assisting with the National Amateur Retriever Championship in 2014, as well as the 8th International Symposium on Veterinary Rehabilitation/Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine, held at Oregon State.
Dr. Seaward enjoys many facets of veterinary medicine, including sports medicine and surgery, but has a special interest in preventative medicine and behavior. She enjoys developing relationships with clients and acting as an advocate for their non-human family members. She is a member of the New York City Veterinary Medical Association, the New York State Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).
In her spare time, Dr. Seaward enjoys running and hiking with her husband and their Labrador retriever. They also enjoy frequenting jazz music clubs and eating their way through New York City’s diverse culinary scene.

Our Practice Manager, Patrick, joined Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic in December 2016. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School with a major in Animal Science. He continued his training in Veterinary Technology at LaGuardia Community College in New York City. He also attended the New York School of Grooming and received his license as a Certified Dog Groomer. Patrick has extensive experience working in the animal medical field. He began as a Veterinary Assistant at the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) in New York City and then became the Office Manager at a small animal hospital in Harlem. He then worked as a Clinic Supervisor at a multi-location practice in the Tribeca/SoHo area. He went on to become the Technician Supervisor and Purchasing Manager at a large full-service animal hospital in New York City. Then he worked as the Hospital Manager of a practice on the Upper East Side.
Patrick’s knowledge of veterinary medicine and hospital management combined with his concern and compassion for animals and their owners makes him a valuable asset to the Abingdon Square Veterinary team.
Mariko is a Licensed Veterinary Nurse. She has been passionate about taking care of animals since she was young. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology from Mercy College. After completing externships at BluePearl Veterinary Partners in Manhattan and the ASPCA, she joined Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic in February 2014. She lives in Manhattan with her husband and their dog, Elsa.
Sheena joined Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic in September 2015 as our Lead Licensed Veterinary Nurse. She attended Veterinary Technical Institute of Pittsburgh and graduated with honors, earning her Associate’s Degree in Specialized Veterinary Technology in 2004. After graduation, she participated in a year-long internship program at The Animal Medical Center, and then worked in a small animal hospital thereafter. Sheena is currently working toward her veterinary technician specialization in dentistry; she hopes to sit for the exam in late 2019. Sheena loves that she has had the opportunity to combine her love of science, medicine, and animals into a wonderful, decade-long career.
Outside of the animal hospital, Sheena enjoys working on photography; she earned an Associate’s Degree in Photography from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in January 2016. Sheena received her black belt in Tae Kwon Do in 2017. Sheena is a native New Yorker, currently living in Queens with her husband and their two kitty cats, Dobby and Daniel S. Catnip.
Helene joined Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic in July 2017 as a Veterinary Assistant. She is currently working toward a degree in Veterinary Technology at Penn Foster College to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Helene was born and raised in the Bronx and has owned dogs as well as hamsters, gerbils, cats, fish, and turtles. She lives with her Shih Tzu, Trixie, and enjoys lap swimming and hunting for ‘The Little Mermaid’ collectibles.
Sarah joined Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic in July 2015 as a Client Service Specialist. She received her degree in Environmental Studies from Virginia Wesleyan College and is currently enrolled in the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute for their two-year acting conservatory. Sarah has always been passionate about animal welfare and loves being a part of the Abingdon Square family. She resides in Brooklyn with her fiancé and their gregarious kitty, Nebula.
Amber joined Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic in July 2017 as a Kennel/Technician Assistant. She has always been interested in working in the veterinary field and is currently enrolled in the Penn Foster program to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Amber grew up in Harlem around lots of furry, scaly, and feathery pets. She currently lives in the Bronx with her boyfriend and their 2 dogs, Cyrus and Shadow. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her fur babies and playing video games. She also likes to teach herself songs on the piano and is thinking about taking classes to improve her piano skills.
Sarah B joined Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic in February 2018 as a Kennel/Technician Assistant and is now a Client Services Specialist. Sarah grew up in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Western Michigan University. In 2002, she moved to New York City and worked as a hair colorist for over a decade. She moved to Austin, Texas for several years and decided on a career change. Sarah had always loved animals, so she decided to work in a animal hospital instead of a salon; she loved it! After moving back to New York City, she decided to continue working in the veterinary field and could not be happier! Sarah and her fiancé, Zane, reside on the Upper West Side with their 2 English Bulldogs, Lola and Chloe.
Jenny joined Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic in February 2018 as a Veterinary Assistant. She started working in the veterinary field in 2011. She is passionate about working with animals and helping them live happy and healthy lives. Jenny plans to attend school in New York to become a Licensed Veterinary Nurse. Jenny was born and raised in Texas. She and her husband are excited to live in and experience Manhattan! In her spare time, Jenny enjoys working on art projects, watching movies, reading, cooking, and snuggling with their orange tabby cat, Thelonious.
Jessica Elizabeth joined Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic in June 2018 as a Client Services Specialist. Jessica grew up in Alaska where she tended her family zoo including dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, chickens, ducks, birds, and fish. She enjoys horseback riding, deep-sea fishing, and brunch. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Communications from the University of Miami. Jessica’s love of horses inspired her to do an internship at Calder Race Course in Miami Gardens, Florida. In 2010, she moved to New York City. She has worked in the veterinary industry for over a decade. Jessica resides in Brooklyn with her partner and their cat, Cat.
Crechelle joined Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic in 2015 as a Veterinary Assistant. She has been a Veterinary Assistant for over a decade. She aspires to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. If you have been following our Instagram and Facebook accounts, Crechelle is the curator behind the cute photos and informative posts! Crechelle has a passion for rescuing animals in need. When she is not caring for animals, she enjoys watching Golden Girl marathons, baking vegan treats, and taking long walks with her dog Colby Jack Cheese. She shares her home with her partner, Mike, Colby, and their three cats, Stinky, Mommy, and Misty.
Nina joined Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic in July 2018 as a Client Service Specialist. She realized she loved animals at an early age when caring for her first dog, a Chihuahua named Zsa Zsa. Her first experience working with animals was at Bideawee adoption center in New York City. She learned a lot about veterinary and behavioral medicine there. She found it very fulfilling to work with animals, so she started working at a veterinarian uptown. Nina was born and raised on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. She currently lives with her 2 dogs, Little Bit and Sarge, and 2 black cats, Tom and Jerry.
Keianna joined Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic in August 2018 as a Kennel/Technician Assistant. She gathered great experience while volunteering at Park East Animal Hospital. She plans to matriculate in the Penn Foster Veterinary Technology program to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician in Fall 2019. In her free time, Keianna enjoys various outdoor activities, such as rock climbing, bicycling, and ice skating. When she is not on the go, she enjoys being home with her two pups, Benjamin and Charlie.
Jason joined Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic in September 2018 as a Kennel/Technician Assistant. A lifelong animal lover, Jason is currently enrolled in the Veterinary Assistant program at Penn Foster. A native of Florida, Jason now resides in Brooklyn with his wife, Cathy, and their two treat-loving cats, Speedy and Ama. In his spare time, Jason enjoys volunteering to promote animal adoption, playing tennis, The Simpsons, and watching sports with friends.
