Dr. Julia Barnhart grew up in Northern New Jersey and has loved animals from a young age, growing up with her beloved two cats and Labrador Retriever. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Northeastern University in 2014 graduating Magna Cum Laude. After taking one year to work as a veterinarian assistant in upstate New York, she then received her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine where she was awarded the ACVIM Certificate of Clinical Excellence in Internal Medicine.

Dr. Barnhart went on to complete a one-year rotating Medicine and Surgery internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Barnhart is thrilled to remain in New York City as a new associate veterinarian at Abingdon Square Vet. Dr. Barnhart loves connecting with her patients and their families and strives to provide tailored, comprehensive care.

In her free time, Dr. Barnhart enjoys trying new restaurants, baking, traveling, and spending time with her family, friends, and two cats, Fossil and Chickie.
